Works as advertised September 7, 2010 Rob Archer (Johnson CIty, TN USA) Received this as a gift (it was on my wish list - I know, I'm strange). The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. The tank on my toilet is tall and narrow leaving not much room to work but this valve fit fine.
My tank contained a ball float ball cock valve. The documentation for this product recommended having a different type of fill valve (without the float ball) but I was able to make the float ball work with it with just a slight bend in the float arm.
The instructions for adjusting water levels were clear and adjustments were easy to perform. The product feels very substantial and the push-button flushing action feels very solid.
I was worried that guests might be a bit confused by the buttons in place of a flush handle. But friends and family who have visited have all immediately figured it out and commented on what a great idea it is for saving water.
This product is a must have for every home.
You have to adjust... September 6, 2010 RobBass (Orlando, Fl United States) For all of you having issues you need to adjust it for #1 and #2, I had problems with double flushing, bowl filling too much and what not. The instructions are good for doing a base install, but they are not clear on what needs to be adjusted, I found a great video on youtube that walks you through installation and adjusting. Once I did this, great product.
Make sure your top lid doesn't cover the button September 6, 2010 PT I have this in for maybe 10 minutes and it seems to work as advertised. Installation is easy. There is one BIG problem is that my water tank has the level on the front (which most of tanks are), I have to close the top lid to flush.
Doesn't seal well. September 3, 2010 Adam Tracey 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this at Costco, actually, for a few dollars less than here on Amazon. It installed pretty easily, but it wouldn't "seat" right with the valve, so after the bowl and tank filled after a flush, it leaked water down the drain pretty quickly, prompting the tank to refill after only 90 seconds. I followed the troubleshooting instructions and repeated the installation--several times!--but to no avail. I wasted a LOT of water installing and reinstalling this thing. Don't waste your time. I'm going to look into getting a better dual flush unit and possibly a better tank refill mechanism, but I wouldn't recommend this one.
No-brainer if you need a new flush mechanism. August 31, 2010 Nemeo (Texas, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If your current toilet flushing system is broken/leaking, this is a no-brainer. Get it!
It's about the same price as the 'typical non-efficient' replacement system, yet it saves lots of water/money.
If you're replacing a working toilet just to make it more 'efficient', you'll need to consider the cost of the item and whether it will payback the cost in saved water considering the lifespan of this item.
For us, we have 4 toilets. We're replacing the 2 most-used ones on the first floor, and possibly the kids' bathroom upstairs. For the guest-bath upstairs, we probably won't since it's not leaking and it doesn't get used often (maybe a couple times per month), which doesn't warrant replacing it.
